So you bought a yoga mat and downloaded a yoga video, you’re about to press play, but look over to your right and notice the clutter in the corner and it’s really distracting you. You really need to work on finding your zen, but first what you need is a beautiful yoga sanctuary in your own home to really get you in the mood, right?! Only one problem. You’re bad and bougee and on a budget!
So here’s a couple of quick tips on how to create an at home yoga studio (on the cheap!)
A Yoga Mat—You don’t need much. A yoga mat is really all you need and you can get a really cute mat from Five Below for $5!
A Yoga Strap—You don’t really NEED a strap, but they’re very helpful to have. If you don’t have a strap just use the belt from your bathrobe or your man’s tie.
Yoga Blocks—Once again, you don’t NEED blocks, but even as a more advanced yogi, I use my blocks all the time. They “bring the floor up to you” if you can’t touch your toes yet and make harder poses more accessible. If you don’t have blocks use a stack of books, a stepping stool, wall or low table.
I have a low key obsession with cute baskets and containers. I store all of my yoga gear in baskets and slide the baskets under tables or stick the baskets in the corner when I’m done. If you’re a crafty chick, you can find cheap storage at places like Goodwill and other thrift stores and upcycle them into something cute! I bought an ottoman at Goodwill for less than $10, bought some clearance fabric that matched my decor, and hot glued it over the old ottoman.
